Obituary

Edgar A. Dawe Sr., age 84, of Weymouth passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 25, 2017. Ed was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. Immediately after graduating from Quincy High School he entered the Army Air Corps and worked as an engineer for three years. When he returned home he met his wife Regina and they soon got married and lived in Quincy for a short time before settling in South Weymouth where they started their family. Ed worked at Stop and Shop for 46 years working his way through many positions including manager of the Braintree store. He was well known in his company for the innovations he made and awards he received during his many years with the company. Ed liked the outdoors, boating, all Boston Sports, and loved taking care of his house and yard. Ed was a people person who loved good conversation and will be remembered for the love and care he gave to his grandchildren of whom he was so very proud.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife Regina Dawe (LaPointe). He is survived by his loving children Debora Bailey of Plymouth, Sandra DiBona and her husband Gregory of Hanover, Edgar Dawe Jr. of Plymouth, and Charlene Butler and her husband Sean of Sandwich, his cherished grandchildren Matt, Derek, Chelsye, the Late Francis Angelo DiBona II, Gregory, Jeana, and Charlotte. Ed is also survived by his brother Billy Dawe of Gradner.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Ed on Monday May 29, 2017 from 4-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:45am for a funeral service that will begin promptly at 10am. Interment will immediately follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery located in Weymouth, MA.
