William A. Horan, 81 of New Bedford died May 25, 2017 peacefully at Sacred Heart Home.
Born in New Bedford the son of the late Dr. Thomas B. and Dorothy D. (Donaghy) Horan, he lived in Dartmouth and Warwick before moving to New Bedford.
Bill loved to laugh, joke and tell a good story. He always had a cup of coffee at the ready, loved boating, fishing and his Sunday morning breakfasts, among many adventures, with his brother Pete.
Survivors include his 2 sons, David T. Horan and his wife Jennifer of Dallas, TX and Stephen J. Horan and his wife Jennifer Love of Scituate; a daughter, Carolyn McCarthy and her husband Michael of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Dr. Peter Horan of Dartmouth; a sister, Mary Hawes of Sarasota, FL; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Dr. Thomas Horan, Jr., Dr. Robert Horan, James Horan, Jackie Beckmann and Nancy Stone.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8th at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
