Rebecca A. "Becky" Henkle Rector , 94, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday May 23, 2017 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born August 10, 1922 in Muncie, the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Rummel) Henkle. She worked as a home health care nurse for over 30 years retiring in 2012. She was a 1941 graduate of Yorktown High School and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson for over 50 years.
She was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard. She was a member of Anderson Country Club, Edgewood Country Club, Anderson Fine Arts Center Women's League, Charter member of La Sertoma Club, lifetime member of Victoria Guild and Anderson University Town and Gown. As a youth, she was active in 4 H sewing and baking and won many county, state and national honors.
She is survived by 2 children; Beth Rector Meyer and Rick Rector both of Carmel, a granddaughter, Courtney Rector of Noblesville, 2 sisters; Dorothy Webb of Anderson and Mary Kay (Wince) Marcus of Muncie, a sister in law; Ruby Webb of Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Rector, sisters Betty Hall and Eleanor Miller and a brother, Philip Henkle.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Kevin Bausman officiating . Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. until the service at noon.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Presbyterian Church, 230 West 9th Street, Anderson, IN 46016.
