Juan A. Suriel, age 62, of Northborough, formerly of Framingham, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday evening, May 21, 2017, after a long illness. He was the devoted husband of Ramona E. Suriel, nee Camilo.
Born, raised, and educated in the Dominican Republic, he was one of the 12 children of the late Francisco A. Suriel and Augustina de Jesus. After he had completed his schooling, Juan continued his education to become a nurse. With a great deal of care and dedication, he served many of those in need of a healing hand throughout his community until he moved his family to the United States nearly 30 years ago.
Juan was employed as maintenance engineer with the Town of Framingham for twelve years and had also worked in the same capacity with the Marriott Courtyard, Natick. Juan’s warmth was such a major part of his persona that it was evident to others the moment he entered a room. He was one of those rare people who had so much love to share that he gave of himself to countless people in his day to day life, and, that energy he expended never diminished the great love with which he showered his family. His concern for others and unguarded kindness are legacies his family will cherish and carry on into future generations.
He is survived by Ramona; their two daughters, Anni Lara-Suriel and her husband Juan Lara, and Gisel Suriel, all of Northborough; three grandsons, Anthony and Andy Lara and Giovanni Fuentes-Suriel; and a large and loving extended family. Juan was also the devoted son-in-law of Candida Camilo and the late Ramon Camilo.
His funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, May 27 at 8:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Stephen Church, 221 Concord Street, Framingham at 10:00A.M. Burial will be at Edgell Grove Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 5 – 8P.M.
