Mary (Milano) Mazzola passed away peacefully at the Rosewood Nursing Home of Peabody. She was 96. Born in Pietrapezia, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Catherine (D'Amico) Milano. A resident of Medford for many years, Mary enjoyed a long career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, worker’s compensation department. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandson Ciro. Mary and her late husband were longtime vacationers in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where they spent the winter months.
Mary’s husband Ciro passed away last year. She was a devoted mother to Mary Ann Smoot-DiGregorio and her husband Salvatore J. DiGregorio of Boxford and the late Ciro V. Mazzola. She was a loving grandmother to Christina Smoot-McMillan and her husband Curtis McMillan, Donald Ciro Smoot and his companion Poliane Silva, and Madeline Elizabeth Smoot. She was a loving great-grandmother to Ciro Joseph McMillan and is predeceased by her dear sister Rose Umanzio.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, May 27th from 9 AM – 11 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
