In Taunton, May 22, 2017 Barbara A. (Bird) Seekell, Age 87, passed away peacefully in Golden Living Wedgemere. Barbara was the wife of the late Benjamin Seekell Jr. and James E. Morrissey. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Arthur Bird and Winifred Spence her late step father Elton Rounds. Barbara was employed as a teacher’s aide for the City of Taunton until her retirement. She was an avid Red Sox fan and above all cherished her time with family. She is survived by her loving daughter Sandra Nadeau and her husband Edmond of East Taunton and her late daughter Jacqueline Alves. She also leaves her siblings Jacqueline Galligan and Alton Rounds. Barbara is survived by her four grandchildren, Joel Nadeau of Taunton, Edmond Nadeau and his wife Michelle of Taunton, Aaron Alves and his wife Dawn of FL and Ian Alves and his wife Jacqueline of CA and her seven great grandchildren. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday from 4-7 pm. A funeral home service will be held at 7 pm. Burial is private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Activities Fund at Wedgemere Nursing Home, 146 Dean St., Taunton, MA 02780.
