David J. Llanes, age 65, of Brockton, died peacefully Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his home following a brief illness. David was the loving husband of Kathleen E. (White) (Marmorstein) Llanes. Born in Chicopee Falls, he was the son of Edna (Mercure) Llanes of Brockton and the late Jose Llanes. He was educated in California and attended Bridgewater State College. David was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam, and had been employed in the South Easton Post Office for 19 years retiring in 2012. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed dancing, bingo, darts and bowling. He was a longtime member of the Bertocci Club and Club National and was a Past Post Commander of Brockton’s VFW-1046.
David was the father of Angela Ulman of California, and stepfather of Daniel and Joshua Marmorstein of Brockton; grandfather of Crystal, Skyla, Charlie, Elizabeth, Nicole, Josh, Jr., Felicia, Hailey, Vicky and Daniel; great grandfather of Addison Erickson and brother of Andrea Babasade of New Jersey, Paul of W. Yarmouth, Jimmy of Holbrook, Joe of W. Bridgewater, Victor of Hanson, Maria Birk of Taunton and Lisa Carter of Lakeville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. David was the stepfather of the late Sheila Pizzano.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 5-8pm. A funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 10:30am, followed by burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery.
