Obituary

Roger E. Gagnon, 88 of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Beaucage) Gagnon, to whom he was married for 64 years.

Born in Lawrence on November 27, 1928, Roger was the son of Albert and Cecile (Morin) Gagnon. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1948 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist at Lucent Technologies, Inc. until his retirement. Roger was a member of the Lawrence Elks #65 and in his free time, enjoyed golfing and ice fishing. He was also very handy with woodworking.

Roger will be deeply missed by his wife, Helen; 3 children, Albert Gagnon and his wife, Paula, of Methuen; Linda Kelley and her husband, Robert, of Methuen; and Ronald Gagnon and his wife, Shirley, of Derry, NH; 8 grandchildren, Patricia, Audrey, Jonathan, Nicole, Zachary, Lauren, Jenna, and McKenzie; his brother, Ronald Gagnon and his wife, Kathy, of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Roger’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 4 - 8 PM. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St, Methuen on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill Street, Reading, MA 01867 or to the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832.
