Obituary

Meredith - Carl LaPoint, 70, died peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia from complications of pneumonia. Carl was born September 15, 1946, son of the late Raymond and Doris (Hayden) LaPoint. Carl is survived by John Bugden, his Guardian of 31 years, and John’s wife Betsy of Manchester, NH and four sisters, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews from New London, CT: Rachel and the Rev. Clarence Hill, Irene and Richard Anderson, and Marie and Sam Blessman, and Mary Ann and Wayne Hill of ME.
Carl is survived by his loving home care family, Terri and Bob Otis and their family of Meredith, NH. Carl received wonderful care through the home care and day programs at Lakes Region Community Services; many thanks to the families and individuals who loved and cared for Carl.
Carl entertained so many with his harmonica at McDonald’s in Meredith, his always pleasant personality, and his good nature. Carl wrote many novels in his notebooks and warmed our hearts; enough for a lifetime. Think of Carl and smile, it comes naturally!
Carl is pre-deceased by three sisters and five brothers: Veronica, Doris, Carol, Jon, Walter, Roger, Jerry, and Ray.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Otis Family home at 3 Lower Ladd Hill Road, Meredith, NH from 3:30 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
Donations may be made in Carl’s memory to Lakes Region Community Services, PO Box 509, Laconia, NH 03247 or to the Exceptional Citizens’ Week at Camp Fatima, 32 Fatima Road, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837
