LACONIA - Rita Anna (Henault) Dagenais of 406 Court St. died May 20th, 2017 at the St. Francis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 12, 1924, the daughter of Henri and Marie (Pelletier) Henault of Manchester, NH. She had resided in Laconia since 1942. Rita worked as a bookkeeper for the A&P, a clerk at Leo’s Foodcenter on Pine St. and as a teller at the Laconia Peoples’ National Bank until her retirement in 1986. She worked part-time managing the bank’s drive-up location until 1993.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parrish. Her interests included golf, walking the track at Opechee Park, shopping, cooking and playing cards. Rita was the former treasurer of the Golden Age Association and former Resident Commissioner of the Laconia Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
Family members include a daughter, Michele Sedgley, a son, Mark Dagenais and his wife, Barbara of Manchester and five grandsons, Ryan MacKissock, Robert Sedgley Jr. and his wife, Alexandra, Bryce Dagenais, Eric Sedgley and his wife, Kelley, Aaron Sedgley and 3 great grand-daughters, Emma, Elisabeth and Bridgett. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 56 years, Leo Dagenais, infant daughter, Denise, her brother Edgar Henault and her 6 sisters, Lauria Bourgault, Grace Tetrault, Cecile (Whitmore) DeLisle, Jeanette DeLisle, Betty Cote, Lucienne Dumont, son-in-law, Robert Sedgley, and grand-daughter-in- law, Tina MacKissock.
A calling hour will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately after the calling hours at 11AM, also at the church.
Burial will follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
