Obituary

Mrs. Margaret J. (Woolhouse) Dugas, of Norton, entered into rest Friday, May 19 at Wingate of Norton following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late J. Peter Dugas, who worked for the New Haven Railroad. She was born 97 years ago in Boston, the daughter of the late Benjamin J. and Mary Elizabeth (Sheehan) Woolhouse. She was educated in Boston and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Mrs Dugas had been a Norton resident for the past 47 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Boston State Hospital for 32 years. Margaret also taught CCD at St. Mary’s Parish in Norton for many years. A family oriented woman, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton, and was a former communicant of the former St. Francis de Sales Parish in Roxbury, where she was an officer of the church Ladies Sodality.

She leaves: 2 sons: Joseph B. Dugas of Norton, and Peter T. Dugas and his wife, Carol of Taunton; 2 daughters: Joan Ida Dugas of Wrentham, and Patricia Coll and her husband, James of No. Carolina; 1 sister: Evelyn (Woolhouse) Wolff of Concord, Ma.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was also the mother of the late Mary (Dugas) Willis, who was the Director of Elder Affairs for the Town of Pembroke, and the sister of the late Mary Walsh, Patricia MacArthur, Julia Bruno, Eleanor McKenzie, and Benice Kalapolitis-Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Wednesday, May 24 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church, Taunton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours wil be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Catholic Charities, 450 Highland Ave., Fall River, Ma., 02720.
