Obituary

AUBURN__Donald J. Joslyn, Sr., 78, of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday May 18, 2017. His wife, Suzanne E. (Benedict) Joslyn died in 2004.
Donald leaves two sons, Donald J. Joslyn, Jr., and his wife Nancy, Timothy Joslyn and his fiancée Elaine Cyr, two daughters, Cathleen Groleau and Sharon Trigiano, twelve grandchildren, Laurie Joslyn Griffin, Michael Joslyn and his wife Jessica, Lindsey Joslyn Kinhan and her husband Jon, Andrew Groleau, Adria Groleau, Timothy Groleau and his wife Kristen, Patrick Joslyn and his husband André Girouard, Benjamin Trigiano and his wife Jennifer, Daniel Joslyn, Samantha Joslyn, Maria Trigiano and Samuel Trigiano, eight great-grandchildren, Grace, Faith, Michael, Sophia, Jon, Everett, Zaria and Margaret, a daughter-in-law Suzanne Joslyn, two sons-in-law Gary Groleau and Wayne Trigiano. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Margaret Benedict, niece, Sheila Golden, nephews, Brian Benedict and Daniel Benedict and his wife Julie, cousins Jimmy and Earl Joslyn and Betty Anne Cote and his dog Stella. In addition to his wife Suzanne he was predeceased by a brother, Everett Joslyn, Jr., a brother-in-law, William Benedict, a niece Jennifer Joslyn and a nephew Everett John Joslyn, III. He was born in Worcester, a son of Everett J. and Isabel M. (Jukubauskas) Joslyn. Don was a graduate of South High School and attended the Wentworth Technical Institute. He was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society and was a Life member of the Auburn Elks.
Fifty – four years ago Don founded ACE Temperature Control an HVAC – R company with his loving wife Suzanne. They worked day and night building the business into the company it has become. The company continues and is proudly owned and operated by his two sons in the same traditions and integrity Don and Suzanne would have wished. When their sons took over the day to day operations Don and Suzanne were able to spend time traveling the U.S.A. in their beloved motor home. He was a strong but gentle leader to a big family that will miss him dearly. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Michael Galica and Don’s caretaker Doreen Nixon for the exceptional care they provided.
The funeral was held on Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester, Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home were Monday May 22, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory can be made to Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, Ma., 01606.
