Laconia----John E. (Jack) McGinnis, 80 passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 13, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Jack was born January 9, 1937 in Ossining, New York to Henry and Helen (Carter) McGinnis. He spent most of his career at Hardigg Industries in S. Deerfield, MA and Columbus, IN before retiring to Laconia in 1997.
Jack was a devoted Catholic who served faithfully in each church of which he was a member. He was an avid fisherman from the waters of Cape Cod to the ponds of Western MA to the lakes of Indiana and New Hampshire.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Roberta (Foster) McGinnis; his son, Michael McGinnis and wife, Elizabeth; daughters Maureen McGinnis and Kathleen Green and her husband, Courtney; grandchildren Colin, Caitlin and Meredith all of MA; a brother, James McGinnis and wife, Tia of FL and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brother, Thomas McGinnis.
The family is grateful to the staff of LRGHealthcare and Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice for their care and help.
Private services were held for immediate family at Sacred Heart cemetery in Laconia, NH.
