Laconia----Carl Eric Nordquist 82, of Laconia, formerly of Statesville, NC and Holden, Massachusetts, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at Lakes Region General Hospital suddenly and unexpected.
Carl was born July 8, 1934 in Worcester, Massachusetts, son to the late Eric and Helen (Carlson) Nordquist. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United Stated Army. Carl work for many years for Omni Services as Financial Manager.
Carl was an avid golfer, and enjoyed family trips to York Beach, Maine. He loved his ice cream and reading the newspaper. Above all his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife, Carol (Rosenlund) Nordquist of Laconia, three daughters, Karla Maki andher husband, Jon of Spencer, MA, Kathy Ciaschini and her husband, David of Holden, MA and Karen Doherty and her husband, Gary of Gilmanton, NH; nine grandchildren, Michael, Erik, David, Jennifer, Amanda, Brian, Melissa, Richard and Joshiua; six great-grandchildren Payton, Alicia, Liam, Abigail, Ayden and Tucker; one brother, Ralph Nordquist of Sterling, MA; two sisters, Jean Graham and her husband, Robert of Narragansset, RI and Donna Hagglund of Holden, MA and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by an infant sister Charlotte, a sister-in-law, Donna Nordquist; a brother-in-law, Steven Hagglund and niece Kim Hagglund Abusheery.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.
