Obituary

Catherine Yameen “Kay” of North Andover, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones after persevering through a long illness. Born in Lawrence to Carmen and Lorretta Paolino, she was the devoted wife of Kenneth W. Yameen for over 60 years.

A graduate of Lawrence High School, she worked for many years at Grants in Lawrence before becoming a caring and loving mother to her five children, daughters Pamela Yameen of Haverhill, Lisa Ash of Andover, Andrea Vallace of Wellesley, and son James Yameen of Quincy. She was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Brown of North Andover.

A wonderful homemaker, she took great pride in her beautiful home and garden. She was proud to be a part of her community whether volunteering at her children’s grammar school at St. Augustine’s on Tower Hill or being a Brownie and Cub Scout Leader. After raising her family, she enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies of Merrimack, Northern Essex Community College and the North Andover and Andover Garden Clubs, but most of all, she enjoyed her family and many friends who provided such courage and support through her illness.

She is also survived by sons-in-law, Michael Vallace, Todd Brown and Peter Ash and daughter-in-law, Eileen Yameen; grandchildren, Kenneth, Christopher, Nicholas and Paul Vallace, Daniel and Catherine Yameen, Christian and Kendra Brown; sister-in-law, Joyce Maroun, Mabel Paolino and Elaine Yameen; brothers-in-law, Joseph Maroun, Thomas Yameen and his companion Kathy Timmons; and many nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by her brother, Richard Paolino.

Kay’s family would like to thank her dedicated and compassionate medical providers and caretakers.
