Daniel J. Gaffney age 74 of Brockton, died Saturday May 13, 2017 at his home. He was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late John A. and Claire A. (Buckley) Gaffney.
He was a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School. Following graduation Daniel enlisted in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran having served in Vietnam and Thailand. He made the Air Force his career and retired in 1987 as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of service. While a member of the Air Force, Daniel attended the B-47 School through the University of Nebraska and the University of Omaha.
Following his retirement, Daniel returned to Brockton.
A proud veteran, Daniel was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, the AMVETS, American Legion, VFW Post 1046 in Brockton, the Disabled American Veterans in Brockton and the Elks (Michigan).
Daniel is survived by his brother Brian Gaffney and his wife Cynthia and a nephew Mark Gaffney and his sons Michael and Matthew of Colorado.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday 10-11am. A funeral service will immediately follow with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
