Obituary

SALEM – Regina (Andruszkiewicz) Stankus, 91, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Salem, wife of the late Bernard J. Stankus, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, following a short illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Antony and Maryanna (Balin) Andruszkiewicz. Regina was a lifelong resident of Salem until moving to Shrewsbury 5 years ago. She was a longtime parishioner of the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, at the Salem-Peabody line and was a member of the St. Thomas Mothers Club. She was also a member of the Polish Russian Lithuanian American Citizens Club in Danvers.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an office worker for many years. She began her career with Thompson Electric in Lynn, and later retired from the City of Salem, where she worked as a clerk and secretary for the Police Department for 10 years. Family, Faith and Friends were her hallmark.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Maryann and Robert Raymond of Shrewsbury and with whom Regina resided, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard Stankus and wife, Victoria Heilig of Jacksonville, FL, Michael and wife Patti Stankus of Derry, NH, 7 grandchildren, Regina Raymond of Shrewsbury, Robert Raymond of Marlboro, Matthew Stankus of Herndon, VA, Capt. Daniel Stankus, US Army, Manhattan, Kansas, Timothy Brooks of Hooksett, NH, Leanne McHale of Brookline, NH, Beth Stankus of Manchester, NH, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Walter, Adolph, Stephen and John Andruszkiewicz.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 with visiting hours from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 11AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, North Street, Route 114, Salem at the Peabody line Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
