SALEM – Barbara L. (Knowles) Bookholz, 84, wife of the late Edward J. Bookholz, of Fryeburg, Maine, formerly of Salem, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Fryeburg Health Care Center following a short illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Rose (Richard) Knowles. She was a resident of Salem for most of her life. She then lived in Peabody for a few years before moving to Maine about 4 years ago.
Barbara was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years.
She is survived by one son, Russell Scott Bookholz and his wife Wendy of Rye, NH, one daughter, Karen A. Bookholz of Center Ossipee, NH, 2 grandchildren, Travis Bookholz of Rye, NH, Cortney Bookholz of Raymond, NH, 1 sister, Elaine Belleau and her husband Wayne of Falmouth and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Elizabeth A. Bookholz.
Relatives and friends may gather for visiting hours at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2 to 5 pm.
