Obituary

Lakeville – Theodore E. Robbins, Sr. 91, died Sunday May 14 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine (Paine) Robbins.

Born and raised in Whitman, he was the son of the late Sumner and Margaret (Sickles) Robbins and a graduate of Whitman High School.
Theodore had been a proud Veteran of World War II, having served overseas in Germany and Japan with the 97th Infantry Division from 1944-1946.

He had moved to Lakeville 1977 and prior to his retirement he had worked for over thirty-eight years as a mechanic for Fitzmaurice / Champion Lincoln Mercury.

He was a past member of the Puritan Masonic Lodge, and had enjoyed gardening. In his younger years he had loved both watching and racing cars.

He is survived by his sons Theodore Robbins, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Westport, Daniel Robbins and his wife Karen of West Bridgewater, and Charles Robbins and his companion Lisa of Rochester, his brothers Gordon Robbins of ME and Howard Robbins of IL and his sister Ruth Todd of NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Theodore III and his wife Melanie, Nichole, Ashley and Christine and three great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Steven B. Robbins and his brother Sumner Robbins.

His funeral service will be held Friday May 19 at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hour will be held Thursday May 18 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
