Carla H. Moody, 50, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Tift County with the Rev. Joseph Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Moody was born February 1, 1967, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, to Carl H. Elliott and Chloe A. Johnson Ireland. She was a 1988 graduate of Sunrise High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. She was employed at Piggly Wiggly and Winn-Dixie where she enjoyed her work and loved meeting new people. Mrs. Moody was a consumer at Sunny Dale Training Center and was known to give great hugs. She loved her cats and was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Billy Joe Moody of Ocilla; her step-daughter, Amber & Joshua Harper of Ocilla; two step-grandchildren: Kristen Moody and Jacob Harper; her father, Carl H. & Esther Elliott of Tifton; her mother, Chloe A. Ireland of Tarentum, Pennsylvania; siblings: Dotty & Dave Pistella of Manor, Pennsylvania, Maryanne & John Hudec, Chrissa Ireland, and Barbara Artz, all of Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Debbie & James Scarborough, Sandy Young, and Brenda Barnes, all of Tifton; Laurie & Gene Patterson of Leesburg, and Darla Elliott of Statesboro. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
