Obituary

William D. Shapiro, 93, beloved husband of Eileen (Eden) Shapiro with whom he shared 72 years of marriage, died May 13, 2017 at the Hanover Hill Health Center, Londonderry, NH. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Harry and Florence (Greenglass) Shapiro. Raised and educated in Everett a graduate of Everett High School and he continued his education receiving his pharmacy degree. He worked as a registered pharmacist at the Parkview Pharmacy with his father, and was owner of the Everett Medical Supply in Everett. Bill was a disabled Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, board of directors of the Congregation Tifereth Israel of Everett and past president of the Everett Kiwanis and served on the board of directors of Everett Savings Bank.
Besides his wife, Bill is survived by his children Ann Hales and Sidney Shapiro, his four grandchildren David & Chad Hales, Matthew & Samantha Shapiro, & great grandchildren Colby Hales & Ethan Policarpio. He was the brother of the late Sidney Shapiro who was shot down over the South Pacific during World War II. Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Chelsea, on Monday May 15, at 1:00 PM. Interment in New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery, Everett. Family will be sitting Shiva in their residence in Londonderry, NH beginning Monday at 6:00PM.
