Obituary

Rita J. Lapointe, 86, died on Thursday, May 11, 2017. As she requested she died comfortably in her home thanks in no small part to the amazing care she received from “Hospice”, “Right at Home” and her ever watchful daughters. She was born in Andover, MA. and was the daughter of Arthur and Bernadette (Bolduc) Charland. She was born and raised in Andover, MA. and resided there for many years prior to relocating to West Ossipee, NH. for 20 years before moving to Derry, NH in 2010.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards specifically 45’s as well as getting a tremendous amount of joy from bingo. She was a devoted Catholic supporting both Sacred Heart Parish in South Lawrence, MA. and St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in West Ossipee, NH where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a selfless individual who spent the majority of her life in support of others. She was truly the strongest person we have ever known. She leaves many friends and family members and will be truly missed.

Rita is predeceased by her husband of 60 years Raymond. Rita leaves her two daughters Mary Louise Corbin and husband John of Pelham, Phyliss Collard and husband Paul of Londonderry, four sons Edgar R. Lapointe and wife Norma of Windham, Robert Lapointe and wife Ann of Kemah, TX, Paul Lapointe and wife Julie of Yorktown, VA, and Mark Lapointe and wife Lisa of Pelham, along with 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers Joseph Charland and wife Carol of Fayetteville, NY, and Robert Charland and wife Gail of Andover. She is predeceased by a brother Paul Charland and a sister Jeanette (Charland) Tessier.

After cremation, a visitation was held from 9 to 10:30 am on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2 Searles Road, Windham. The burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
