Obituary

Meredith-----Richard “Dick” H. Laskey, 89, of Emily Circle, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Dick was born on June 10, 1927 in Hanover to the late Harold and Marjorie (Allen) Laskey. He was an electrical engineer and worked for several companies, including Lynn Electric and Brockton Edison, after graduating from Northeastern University. Following his engineering career, Dick was a conductor and trainman for the Conway Scenic Railroad as a longtime resident of Madison. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Dick had a passion for trains, spending many enjoyable hours constructing his model railroad at home. He also enjoyed walking and spending time with his dachshund Lavender.

Dick was a doting husband to his wife of nearly 65 years, Anne (Burns) Laskey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Adrianne Ting and her husband Peter of Dover, MA, Andrea Opachinski and her husband Peter of Kingston, MA, and Barbara Andersen and her husband Robert of Hadley, MA; and five grandchildren, Lindsay Ting, Laura Ting, Lauren Opachinski, Zachary Andersen, and Benjamin Andersen. In addition to his parents, Dick is predeceased by his brother Paul Laskey and his sister Cynthia Green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH Route 25, Meredith. At 11:00 am, a half hour prior to Mass, the family will receive friends at the church.

Burial will follow in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick’s memory may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, P.O. Box 572, Laconia, NH 03246 or the Anderson Ganong Cancer Center, LRGH, 80 Highland Street, Laconia, NH 03246. Please write Richard Laskey on the memo line.
