Martinez, GA - Shirley Ann Abbott, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel. Burial will follow at West View Cemetery.
Shirley was the daughter of the late Cyril And Ethel Abbott. After graduating high school, she worked at Davison’s on Broad Street, where she modeled clothes. Shirley also worked for C&S Bank before beginning her career at E-Z-Go, where she retired after 31 years. Shirley loved doing for others without expecting anything in return. She also enjoyed family get-togethers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Richard Abbott, and sister; Mary Ellen Abbott Ensley. Survivors include her brother; Harold “Tom” Abbott of Martinez, GA, sister; Betty Abbott Harrell of Grovetown, GA, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and one great great great nephew.
Pallbearers will be John Fogarty, Robert Fogarty, Justin Fogarty, Daniel Fogarty, Michael Fogarty, and Brad Lillard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
