CORDES, Margaret A. (Conley) “Pegge”, of Winthrop, passed away on May 7, 2017. She was 73 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph “Skipper” Cordes. Born in Winthrop, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward F. and Margaret J. (Kneeland) Conley. Devoted mother of Joseph I. “Jay” Cordes and Kristin M. Cordes both of Winthrop. Adored grandmother of Joseph I. “Joey” and Amanda Y. Cordes and Joseph J. MacDonald. Dear sister of Edward “Ted” Conley and his wife Elizabeth “Bette” of Winthrop, Howard Conley and his wife Helen “Cookie” of Saugus, Thomas Conley of Winthrop and David Conley and his wife Elizabeth “Betty” of Woburn, and the late Mary Lou Holthaus and her husband Paul of Winthrop. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Sat. May 13, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section). Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Fri, from 4-8pm.
