Clelia “Claire” (Contardo) Orlandi, of Arlington, formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away on Thursday, May 4th, surrounded by her loving family at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was 70.
Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Emma (Tarantino) Contardo. Claire attended the Julie Billard High School and graduated with the class of 1964. She continued her education at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She graduated with her bachelorette degree in 1975. While attending university, Claire and her husband Lisanio married on June 9, 1968 at St. Mary Church of Boston’s North End. The two built their family with love and devotion.
Claire was the devoted mother of Anthony A. Orlandi and his fiancé Emily Jensen of Nashville, Tennessee, Lee R. Orlandi and his wife Brittany of Arlington. She was the dear sister of Mary Ann Tordiglione and her husband Anthony "Cal" of Boston's North End, Teresa Pecci and her husband Andrew of Somerville, Leonard Contardo and his wife Joanne of Arlington, Annette Amicangelo and her late husband Richard of Stoneham. Claire was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Saturday, May 6th at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 5th from 4 through 8PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
