Obituary

SISTI, John Of Hyde Park passed away peacefully on May 2, 2017, at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Helen DiNino Sisti of 70 years. John was born in Pontecorvo, Italy. He was employed by H. Sacks & Sons of Brookline as a fine furniture reproduction artisan and wood carver. John joined the Army in 1942, serving his country during WWII in Europe as an aerial gunner and radio operator. He rose in rank to staff sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1945. Upon returning from War, John met and married Helen in 1946 and settled in Readville, where he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

They raised three daughters, Jane Sisti of Mill Valley, CA, Roberta Daly and her husband Tim of Framingham, and Linda Ludvigsen and her husband Ron of Dedham. Loving brother of Mary Citrone of Norwood, and the late Anthony, Victor and Benjamin. John is survived by five granddaughters, Jacquelyn and her husband Patrick, Stephanie, Jessica, Julia, Jenna, and one great-granddaughter, Madison.

John loved to swim on the beaches of Cape Cod, where he owned an antique shop. He also enjoyed playing bocce with his family, golfing and bowling. He never said no to dessert.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Monday, May 8 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anne Church, Readville at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday, May 7 from 4-8pm. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boston VA Healthcare System, Voluntary & Recreation Services, ATTN: John Sisti Memorial Gift Fund, 150 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
