Fall River – Otillia “Tillie” Moniz, age 93 of New Bedford , passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Moniz and the daughter of the late Maria Rosario (Figueiredo) and Antonio Paulino.
Born in New Bedford, Tillie was a homemaker to her loving family and an avid reader of books.
She is survived by 5 children: Paul Albert Moniz of Dartmouth, Alan D. Moniz and his wife Inez of North Carolina, Kathryn Hodgkins and her husband Curtis of Dartmouth, Richard A. Moniz of New Bedford and Albert J. Moniz and his wife Sandra of North Carolina; 2 siblings: Mary Costa of New Bedford and Alex Paulino of Florida as well as 5 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Tillie was the Godmother of her special Godchild Susan Perreira of New Bedford. She was also the mother of the late Marie Moniz and the sister of the late Manuel Paulino.
Her funeral will be Friday beginning in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. with a service in the funeral home at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M.
