Robert “Bob” Warren Niedbala, 73, of Methuen, passed away on April 29, 2017 surrounded by his devoted family at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Robert was born on September 11, 1943 to Alexander and Gabrielle (Remy) Niedbala in Chelsea, MA. Early in his childhood his family relocated to Derry, NH where he attended Pinkerton Academy. After school, Robert worked for many years as Fabric Cutter in the garment industry. Additionally he was self-employed as a flooring contractor for Bob’s Flooring. He married the love of his life, Dolores, in a simple ceremony and eventually settled in Methuen. Robert was a devoted family man who could readily be found at the local VFW, enjoying a game of darts, shooting pool, or playing 45’s. He was a man who touched many lives and will truly be missed.
Robert is survived by his loving spouse of 54 years Dolores (DeSell) of Methuen, MA, and his two daughters, Donna Vasseur and her loving companion Derek Stillie of King, NC, and Roberta and her wife Mary Ellen Viens of Derry, NH. He was the grandfather to his four cherished grandchildren; Austin, Spencer, Mason, and Anthony. Robert is also survived by his sister Mary Jennex of FL, several nieces and nephews, and his best canine friend Oreo. He is also survived by his god daughter, Rhonda L. Bilapka of Methuen, MA, and his beloved in-law’s, Sharon and Terry Sanfacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Niedbala, and Shirley Kelly, and his brother, Stanley Niedbala.
Visitation for Robert will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be private.
