Obituary

Coleman Joyce, age 94, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30th. Born, raised and educated in County Galway, Ireland, Mr. Joyce moved to the U.S. as a young man. He retired from the Boston Gas Co. after a lengthy employment. A wonderful family man, he was a longtime parishioner of St. Agatha Church and served as an usher for many years. An avid gardener, Mr. Joyce loved boats and the ocean. He shared happy memories of boating and fishing with his father in Ireland. The beloved husband of the late Winifred (Flaherty), Mr. Joyce is survived by his devoted daughters, Barbara M. Carney of Milton and Ann K. Harrington her husband Francis of Westwood, and his cherished grandchildren; Elizabeth Nicosia and her husband Timothy of Westwood, John Carney of Milton, Michael Carney and his wife Lauren of NY, Victoria Harrington of Westwood and 5 great grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, Coleman, Maeve and Nora. Mr. Joyce was predeceased by 13 siblings,Mary Kelly, Nan Connolly, Bridget McDonough, Maggie Kelly, Nora Jennings,Kate Reaney, Barbara Cooney, John, Joseph, Peter, Michael, Martin and Patrick. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Monday at 9 am. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Sunday, from 3 to 7 pm. Burial in Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimers Assn. of MA, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. Colman's family would like to the thank the staff at the Alliance Heath Care, Braintree, MA for their excellent care.
