Donna Griffin Chaney, 56, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Arp Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Chaney was born October 10, 1960, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Riley Donald & Joyce Mullis Griffin. She lived in the community all of her life and was a CNA for the Fitzgerald Nursing Home. Mrs. Chaney was devoted to her grandchildren and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a member of the former Northside Baptist Church and sang with the youth choir.
She is survived by her son Wade & Kimberly Chaney of Fitzgerald; four grandchildren: Abbie Lea Ellington-Chaney, Timothy Kaleb Chaney, Madison Brooke Chaney, Rebecca Faith Chaney and a brother, Brian Keith Griffin & Rhonda of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry "Bo" Chaney and a brother, David Riley Griffin.
