Laconia---- Herman “Bud” J. Caswell Jr., 91, died on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Golden View Health Center in Meredith.
Bud was a life-long resident of the Lakes Region, born on January 9, 1926 in Laconia to the late Elise G. (Brigham) and Herman J. Caswell Sr. He owned and operated the Caswell and Son Company. Bud enjoyed skiing, golfing, and hiking and spending his summers on Lake Winnisquam and he enjoyed traveling in his motor home. He was also a talented metal craftsman and made jewelry as a hobby. Bud belonged to the Kiwanis club for many years as well as being a veteran of World War II. He was an avid member of the Shriners Bektash Mini Patrol and he was forever a gentleman.
Bud is survived by his significant other, Dorothy “Dot” Kahn, 2 sons, Clay Caswell and Allen Caswell; a daughter Pamala Kyle and her husband Kenneth; 9 grandchildren, Cole, Cora, Cohen, Allison, Ross, Ryan, Brett, Clay Jr., Elena; 8 great-grandchildren, Teddy, Patrick, Samuel, Cassie,Parker, Sylus , Kasey, Aria; a daughter-in law, Brenda Caswell, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Bud is predeceased by his wife Beverly (Nadon)Caswell, a granddaughter, Cameron Coulstring, a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Caswell and a sister Dorothy Boynton.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 1PM to 2PM at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Monday, May 1, 2017 also at the Funeral Home.
A private burial will follow at a later date in the family lot in the Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street Boston, MA 02114.
