Obituary

Marjorie (Nadeau) O'Brien, 89, of New Bedford died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Alden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was the wife of the late William W. O'Brien, Sr.

Born in Rochester, daughter of the late Augustine and Alexina (Ouellette) Nadeau, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.

Marjorie was a foster parent for many years and helped to care for many children in the Southcoast area. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a former member of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Seniors club.

Survivors include three children, Carol Sylvia and her husband David, William O'Brien, Jr., and Jacqueline O'Brien; two sisters, Mary Marden and Janet Hall; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Florence Lemoine.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 9 AM.
