Obituary

Lawrence M. "Larry" Conroy, a 41 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of South Boston, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at his home in Charlestown following an extended illness. He was 84 years old.

Larry was born in Boston on July 8, 1932, a son of the late John F. Conroy and Marie E. (Riley) Conroy. He grew up in South Boston where he was educated in St. Brigid's Parochial School and graduated from South Boston High School in 1949. Larry enlisted into the United States Army on November 7, 1949 and served his country with honor and pride during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on February 9, 1953 with the rank of Corporal. Larry worked as a Troubleshooter for Boston Edison and retired after 42 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus.

Larry is the beloved husband of 40 years to Kathleen M. (LaTerz) Conroy. He is the devoted father of Chief Master Sergeant Annie Cantrell, Ret. USAF and her husband Richard of Alabama, Maryjo Conroy of Alabama, Master Sergeant Paul J. Conroy, Ret. USAF and his wife Mel of Oklahoma and the late Lawrence M. Conroy Jr. He is the loving Grandpa to 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Molly Santry of Needham and the late Helen Fiascaino, Joann Owens, Jack Conroy, Bob Conroy and Ross Conroy. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Larry's Funeral Services and burial will be private.
