TEWKSBURY - Harold D. Creamer Jr., age 85, a former businessman in Reading, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 26, in the loving care of his family and hospice, after a courageous but brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was the beloved husband for forty-seven years of Judith H. (Hewitt) Creamer, who died in 2002.
He was born in Winchester, in May 1932, one of two children of the late Harold D. and Anne (Moore) Creamer, raised in Reading, and moved to Wilmington for a year, and settled in Tewksbury in 1959 with his new wife to raise their family.
He was the owner of Johnson’s Farm Supply, which became Johnson’s True Value Hardware in Reading near the Train Depot. He ran the company for over fifty years.
Throughout his life, he owned many motorcycles, which he enjoyed as a hobby.
He leaves three sons, David Creamer and his wife Terry Kennedy of San Diego, CA, Steven and his wife Cathy (Cardinal) Creamer of Easton, and Harold D. “Hal” Creamer and his wife Danielle of Tewksbury, with whom he resided; six grandchildren, Daniel Cross and Angela Routsis both of Hudson, NH, Donna Canelas of Dracut, David Creamer and Jolietta Kennedy both of San Diego, and Sabrina Dubay of Tewksbury; two great grandchildren, Ariadne and Jayden; a sister, Glenna Sandberg and her husband Ernest of Wilmington.
Visiting hours Saturday, April 29, from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
