John C. Higginbotham
Retired General Electric Production Coordinator

TEWKSBURY: John C. “Higgy” Higginbotham, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury for 26 years, formerly of Chelsea, passed away at the life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley in Billerica on Monday, April 24, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Elaine (DeMasse) Higginbotham, who passed away in 1990.

Born in Chelsea on January 18, 1933, he was the son of the late George “Snap” Higginbotham and Alice (MacDonald) Higginbotham.

John attended Chelsea schools and graduated from Chelsea High School.

John previously served in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the General Electric Company in Chelsea, where he worked as a production coordinator.

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Francis Coppens Council # 4336 of Tewksbury.

He enjoyed playing bingo at St. William’s Church and the Tewksbury Elks. In addition, he liked traveling to Foxwoods Resort & Casino.
John will be fondly remembered for his humor and love of love of laughter.

His greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his daughter, Ellen A. Sexton-Rogers and her husband Mark Rogers of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Carissa and Jaclyn Sexton, Gianna Sullivan and her husband James, Vanessa, Joseph and Nicole Rogers; four great grandchildren, Julianna Caristinos, Arianna Wingate, Hailey Rohan, and Morgan Rogers. John was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great-grandson, Lucas.

John was the brother of the late Lorraine Publicover.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Calling Hours on Friday, April 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. At the request of the family, funeral services will be private. Please Omit Flowers.
