Mr. Wilfred J. Ducharme, formerly of Taunton, died Sunday, April 23 in Serenity Hill Nursing and Rehabiliation Center, Wrentham, following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Joanna (Amora) Ducharme. He was born 86 years ago in Pawtucket, R.I., the son of the late Wilfred J. and Beatrice (Brodeur) Ducharme. He was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, Wilfred had been employed as a Deli Manager for Stop and Shop Supermarkets in Taunton and New Bedford for 33 years. He was a member of the U.F.C.W. Union. He enjoyed watching old movies. He was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 son: Matthew Ducharme of Taunton; 1 daughter: Marcia Niland and her husband, James of Norfolk; 2 grandchildren: Luke and Kara Niland, both of Norfolk, and several nieces and nephews. Wilfred was also the brother of the late Arline Maguire of Taunton.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Thursday, April 27, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the funeral, Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
