Ruth (Giovanni) Coco, 86 passed away peacefully April 23, surrounded by the love of her family. Ruth was born on March 28, 1931 in Lawrence to Concettea Pitochelli and Gustave Giovanni.
She was united in marriage to Horace Coco on September 5, 1948, at Holy Rosary Church. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1983. Horace and Ruth enjoyed 35 happy years of marriage traveling together and with their family.
Ruth was an accomplished seamstress and loved sewing. She also worked in the food service industry for many years. Her first love was her family. She found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at family gatherings. Ruth loved her many trips to Newport with her family. She was an avid 45’s player and a great cook. She found much pleasure in cooking for anyone who visited her.
Ruth made her home with her loving daughter and son-in-law. Ruth is survived by her daughter Sharon McGhee and her husband Mark of Methuen, son Robert Coco and his wife Theresa of Amesbury, four grandchildren Cheryl Corrigan and her husband David, Jonathan McGhee and his wife Heather, David Coco and his wife Eileen, and Steven Coco and his wife Erin. Ruth also leaves five great grandchildren who adored her, Caitlyn McGhee, Mackenzie Corrigan, Matthew Coco, Regan Coco, and John Coco.
She is also survived by sisters Marilyn S. Onge and her husband Robert, Ann Folopoulous and husband George, and her devoted friend Rita Malek.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen.
