John Kenneth “Lefty” Murphy, of Malden formerly of Somerville, passed away on April 22, 2017. He was 75 years old.
John was a longtime member of the Irish American Club in Malden. He loved vacationing at Prince Edward Island and also working as a crossing guard at the Salemwood School in Malden.
John was the beloved husband of Emily (Johnston) Murphy. He was the loving father of Brendan Murphy and his wife Carine of Reading. John was the dear brother of Daniel Murphy and his wife Carolyn, Claire McMahon and her husband James, and Lawrence Murphy and his late wife Joyce. He was the cherished grampy to Jack and Shayne Murphy. Jack was the godfather to Erin Cafferky and Kevin McMahon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday April 27th at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday April 26th from 4-8pm.
Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
