Ronald W. Robinson, 72

Dateline: Taunton, MA

Ronald W. Robinson, age 72, of Taunton, passed away following a brief illness, in the comfort of his home on Friday, April 21, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. Harper-Robinson.

Born in Auburn, New York on September 14, 1944, he was a loving son of the late William J. and Madeleine (Schwartz) Robinson.

Ron grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. His family moved to Easton in 1960 where he was a 1963 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. He furthered his education, attending Bentley College of Accounting.

Prior to retiring in 2009, Mr. Robinson had been employed as a quality control assurance inspector and lab technician for CPS Technologies in Norton. He had previously worked at GTE in Taunton, the former Kilburn Glass Co in Norton and when younger for the former Fernandes Supermarket.

Ron was a longtime member of the Norton Singers. He enjoyed classical music, reading, of which his favorite subject was historical biography’s and mystery’s written by Rex Stout and Agatha Christy. He treasured times spent with family, especially summers spent on Square Pond in Maine with his wife and his Bichon Frise’s “Ralph” and “Templeton”, who he affectionately refereed to as his boys.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his dear brother Roger J. Robinson and his wife Rosina of Harwich.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Ronald’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St, #204, Brockton, MA 02301.
