…Centenarian from Tewksbury; age 102
TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Vincenza ( Siraco) DeFeo, age 102, born in the years before WW I, died peacefully on Thursday afternoon, April 20, at the D’Youville Life and Wellness Center in Lowell, where she had been in residence for the past two years. She was the beloved wife of Guido William DeFeo, who died in 1981.
She was born in East Boston on February 21, 1915, one of five children of the late John and Lucia (Tontodonato) Siraco. She was raised in East Boston, and graduated from East Boston High School. She lived in Tewksbury, most recently in the Flucker Heights Senior housing community. Prior to retirement, she worked as a secretary at Hanover Insurance Company. In her later years, she was a frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Center, and loved Bingo with her friends at the Center. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking for her family, was an avid reader, and beloved Nana and “GG”
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary Ann (Adams) DeFeo of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, Richard J. DeFeo of Bolton, Laura and her husband David Scholl of Tewksbury, Douglas Defeo and his wife Cherise of Tewksbury; five great grandchildren, Xavier, Joshua, Adam, Jessica, and D’Andrea; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her siblings, Dominic Siraco, Anthony Siraco, Mary Siraco and Phyllis Lanieri.
Visiting hours Sunday, April 23, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. in the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, corner of Main and South Sts., (Rte. 38) So. Tewksbury. On Monday, no Funeral Procession, please meet at church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be held at a later date.
