Floyd Davis, 81, passed away peacefully and returned to our Heavenly Father on April 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Baptist East Hospital.
Floyd was the son of Carl and Altha Davis, brother of Maurice (Shirley) and Dorothy Phillips (Gordon), all of which proceeded him in death.
He was born in Breckinridge County and moved to Louisville after graduation. He was married to his best friend, Mary, on August 10, 1957 and would have celebrated his 60th Wedding Anniversary this year. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Army and was employed at General Electric for 36 years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending winters in Texas and Florida, golfing, and time with family and friends.
He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and was a loving husband, father and Papa. He is survived by the love of his life, Mary, his three children; Barry, Lynn Nuxol (John), and Gina Lutes (Mike); sister-in-law, Patsy Young; brother-in-law, Logan Robbins (Linda), as well as, nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. He was most proud of his grandchildren and loved them so much; Ashley Davis; Nicole and Jason Nuxol; Sean, Sarah and Emily Lutes; step grandchild, Amy McKiernan (Cary) and great grandchildren, Jack and Lyla McKiernan.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00pm Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 9318 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40299. Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Monday at Owen Funeral Home with a private family burial at a later date in Breckinridge County.
Memorial gifts may be made to the ALS Association Kentucky Chapter, 8640 Haines Drive, Suite F, Florence, KY 41042 in honor of his father-in-law, John Robbins (Catherine).
