Marc E. Anderson, 60

Dateline: Dennisport, MA

Marc E. “Uncle Buck” Anderson, age 60, of Dennisport, formerly of Hardwick and Sturbridge, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was beloved longtime companion of Karen Lofgren, and her daughters Heather and Leah Mojer.

Born in Brockton, MA on June15, 1956, he was a loving son of the late Edward A. and Shirley M. (Armor) Anderson.


Marc grew up in Whitman, attended Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, and was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Whitman. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

Marc was a skilled self-employed carpenter and was the former proud owner of the Hardwick General Store in Hardwick. He had made his home in Dennisport for the past eight years and when younger, along with his family, enjoyed many wonderful summers spent in West Dennis.

Marc was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams to cheer on were the Red Sox and Patriots. He was a member of the Buzzards RC softball team, and also enjoyed hiking, camping, sailing, building birdhouses and golf video games.

He was the devoted father of Casey R. Anderson and Hailey S. Anderson both of Worcester. He was the dear brother of Linda Anteski of Yarmouth, Nancy Anderson of Brockton, Marcia Rome of West Bridgewater, Karen Anderson-Holmes of Middleboro and Paul Anderson of Mansfield. He was the cherished grandfather of Izzabella, and is also survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of Marc’s life, followed by military honors on Thursday, April 27th at 1:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours have been omitted and it has been requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Marc’s memory be made to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
