Obituary

Linda Anne-Marie (Boucher) Carmel, 79, of Framingham and formerly of Natick died Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the age of 79.

She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on January 1st, 1938, the eldest daughter of the late Joseph Edmond and Marie Cecile (Castonguay) Boucher.
Linda lived in Hartford, CT during World War II, and then grew up in Waltham, MA, where she graduated from Waltham High School in 1956. She then went on to study nursing at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing and graduated from that program in 1960. She served as a nurse for more than forty years, at locations such as the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Boston, Saint John’s Hospital in Oxnard CA, Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, MA, Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham, and finally retired from the Carlyle House Nursing Home in Framingham in 2010. She provided hospice care for both of her parents in turn, so they were each able to pass into heaven from their long-time Waltham home.

Linda married Leon J. Carmel of Waltham on September 9th, 1961 at Saint Joseph’s Church in Waltham. Throughout her married life, she lived in West Newton, MA; Sonoma, CA; Vallejo, CA; Oxnard, CA; and Natick, MA. She moved to Wilson Gardens in Framingham in 1998.

She was predeceased by Leon Carmel and both her parents. She is survived by three sons; Todd of Framingham, Chris and his wife Sandy of Framingham and Fairhaven, MA; Mark and his wife Amy of Springfield, VA; and two grandchildren; Margaret Carmel of Lynchburg, VA, and Eric Carmel of Chesapeake, VA. She is also survived by one brother, Thomas Boucher and his wife Sharon of Punta Gorda, FL; one sister, Gail Bernadette (Bunny) Vazquez of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Linda’s funeral on Saturday April 22 at 8:00 AM from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home,4 Park St. Natick, (at the Natick Common), followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St.Patrick Church Church, Natick. Burial will take place at Glenwood Cemetery Cemetery, South Natick. Visiting hours at the funeral Home will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be given to the American Lung Association.
