Carolyn (McGowan) Oliviere, 75 of Bridgewater, formerly a long-time resident of Brockton, died peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Life Care Center in West Bridgewater after a fourteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, Carolyn graduated from Randolph High School in 1960 and became a nurse in 1971 after studying at South Easton Vocational School. She worked at Brockton Hospital for over 30 years and also worked as a nutritional counselor at Synergic Weight Loss in Brockton for ten years.
Carolyn loved crafting, knitting, baking, interior design and spending time with her family and friends. She was the go-to person for wedding and baby showers and was always there for everyone in her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, nurse, and a devout Catholic who said the Rosary daily; an avid reader who loved “Dancing with the Stars”, “General Hospital”, HGTV and The Hallmark Channel.
She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Thomas and her children: Debora Oliviere-Llanes and her husband James of Bridgewater, Timothy Oliviere of Hopkinton, Amy LaCentra and her husband Joseph of Huntington, NY and Tod Oliviere and wife Lisa of North Easton. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Rachael and Rebecca Llanes, Andrew and Anthony Oliviere, Nicholas and Sophia LaCentra, and Tommy and Catherine Oliviere. She is also survived by her brother James McGowan and his wife Penny as well as several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents James and Mary (Boudreau) McGowan, and sister Valerie Teague.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Rte 123), Brockton on Monday, 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9am for a funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church in W. Bridgewater at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
