Michael J. Braccini, a 45 year resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. He was 77 years old.
Mike was born in Somerville on February 22, 1940, a son of the late Joseph and Joanne Braccini. He grew up in Somerville where he was educated in the Somerville Public School system. Mike worked as a truck driver and drove for over 33 years for Lechmere Sales. He was a 40 year member of the Teamsters Union Local # 25. He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed hunting.
Mike is the beloved husband of 40 years to the late Colleen M. (Pike) Doe-Braccini who passed away on April 8, 2017. He is the devoted father of Joseph Braccini, Christine Braccini, Arthur "Butchie" Doe and his wife Maryanne, Ronald Doe and his wife Virginia, Patrick Doe and his wife Diane and the late Colleen Whalen and Kellyjean Doe. He is the father-in-law if Tina. He is the loving Grandfather to many grandchildren, the late Jillian Boyden, Richard Whalen & his many great-grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Jo-Anne Valiant. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mike's visiting hours on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
