Obituary

George William Davis, 83, of Anderson, died April 12, 2017 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after an extended illness.

He was born May 4, 1933 in Alexandria, IN the son of Joseph P. and Bertha Davis.

He served in the United States Army.
He was a tool and die maker at Delco Remy division of General Motors 39 years before retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his four children, Andrea (Art) Shaw of Anderson , Kim (Jerry) Davis of Houston, Cindy (Steve) Plake of Anderson and Tom (Lisa) Davis of Muncie; nine grandchildren, Richard, Ryan, Kyle, Whitney, Lauren, Matt, Taylor, Chandler and Conner; three great grandchildren, Sophie, Addie, Grayson and three more on the way; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Peggy (Murray) Davis whom he married June 20, 1954 in Elwood; great granddaughter, Lilly Mae; two brothers, Joe and Frank; five sisters, Geneva, Phyllis, Martha, Louise and Virginia.

Services will be 6 p.m. on Monday, April 17 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Ed Hyatt of South Meridian Church of God officiating.

Private burial of cremated remains will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
