Obituary

Robert (Bob) Brady, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 10, 2017 after a brief illness. He was the wife of 58 years of the late Karin (Ranney) Brady, who died in 2011. Born and raised in Natick, Bob was the son of Ella (Johnson) and Patrick Brady, and the brother of the late Richard Brady.

Bob joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard at the age of 17, and made that his lifelong career, working in supply and logistics. He retired as a Warrant Officer after 44 years of service.

A talented athlete, Bob was one of the stars of his high school basketball team, and played softball for the Cape Cod Senior Softball League with his brother for many years after retirement. He enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren, playing Scrabble and poker, and watching his beloved Boston sports teams win championships.

After marriage, he and Karin moved to Franklin in 1960 to raise their family. Bob is survived by his five loving children, Robert Scott and his companion Emily of W. Dennis; Donna Brady; Steven and his wife, Marianne; and Cheryl Curley and her husband Douglas, all of Franklin; and Peter of Dedham; as well as his grandchildren Matthew, Kelly, Tiffany, and Cameron; and great grandchildren Addy, Will, and Ayla.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday April 21st at 9:30am from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:15AM. Interment with military honors will follow.

Calling hours are Thursday April 20th, from 4-6PM at the funeral home.
