Obituary

Thomas E. Thibault, 78, of North Smithfield died Sunday April 9, 2017 at Landmark Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Frances (Pikor) Thibault. They were married on October 27, 1962.
Born in Lincoln he was a son of the late Thomas E. and Lucille (Doiron) Thibault. He lived in Albion and Woonsocket for a number of years and resided in North Smithfield for over 50 years. He attended Pawtucket Vocational School.
Mr. Thibault served in the U. S. Navy during the late 1950s. His assignments include the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy.
A master electrician Tom was the founder and president of Father & Son Electric for over 20 years. In his earlier years he owned T&T Electric and also worked at Sab Knife and Bachman Foods.
Tom was a loyal member of Red Sox Nation and an even bigger fan of the Patriots. A season ticket holder he was at the “Snow Game” cheering on the team in the bleachers when “Brady made the toss” - a moment enshrined in New England sports legend.
Tom was a summer resident of Breakwater Village in Narragansett and enjoyed saltwater fishing – always angling to get “the big one”.
Tom, also affectionately known as Pop, will be remembered as a loving husband and father and cherished his role as a grandfather. Pop was a friendly and outgoing man with a heart of gold.
In addition to his wife of 54 years he is survived by two sons Thomas E. J. Thibault, Jr and his wife, Kathleen, and Michael Thibault all of North Smithfield. A daughter Cheryl A. Thibault of North Smithfield and her companion, James Viera, of Seekonk. His grandson Thomas E. J. Thibault III of North Smithfield. He is also survived by his sister Ellena Yuszczak and her husband, Michael, of North Smithfield and his nephews Michael Yuszczak, Jr. (who was also his godson) and his wife, Christy Lee, and Erik Yuszczak and his wife Keryn.
His funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass at 11:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St. Slatersville. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
