O'Connor Alice Marie (Hare) 53, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at her home in Dover, Mass. She was born April 5, 1964 in Warren Ohio, the daughter of Gordon M. and Phyllis M. (Was) Hare. Alice was raised in Warren and graduated from Howland High School in 1982. She graduated from Kent State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. She worked in commercial lending in Cleveland and Boston. She moved to Dover in 1998 and worked for many years as a realtor, most recently at Landmark Residential of South Natick. While at her former real estate firm, Benoit Mizner Simon & Company, of Wellesley, she was named to the company's elite group of top 10 associates in both 2013 and 2014. Alice was an excellent conversationalist, transitioning from news to sports to culinary topics with ease. She had a way of engaging people and lighting up a room. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time at the Cape. Alice was a loving mother and a true friend. Her smile will be with us always. Alice is survived by three children, Bridget Marie, Mitchell Raymond and Ryan Christopher, of Dover; her mother Phyllis M. Hare of Warren, Ohio; two sisters, Jane Hare (Dale Shimek) of San Diego, Calif. and Margaret (Joe) Stefanik of Lebanon, Ind; two nieces and a nephew, Meredith, Joseph and Hannah Stefanik; her maternal grandmother Irene G. Was of Warren; aunts; uncles; cousins; numerous friends including Gary O'Neill; and her dog Cody. Alice's passing is preceded by her father, Gordon M. Hare, in 2014.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. (Rt. 16) WELLESLEY on Wednesday, April 12th at 9 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Most Precious Blood Church, 30 Centre St. Dover at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday April 11th from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment Highland Cemetery, Dover.
A memorial service will be held in Warren, Ohio at a later date.
